I can't deny it any longer. After months of eating out with my boyfriend Peter, enjoying cocktails with friends and working from home within 5ft of the kitchen, my weight has shot up. The proof? My favourite jeans stubbornly refuse to do up and I've had to reach for the kind of control pants Gok Wan adores. Bad times.
With two weddings and a holiday coming up in the next few weeks, I need to shift some of the weight quickly and safely.
Having a busy social and work life means I need an eating plan that can fit in around it. So, when I found out about Special K's budget-friendly 2 week plan, I thought I'd give it a go. Eat yummy cereal for breakfast and lunch or dinner and fit into one of those gorgeous red dresses from the TV ads? Why not eh?
Here's how I got on.
Day One
Breakfast: Special K Red Berries
Snack: Banana

Snack: Carrots
Dinner: Lamb chops, new potato, veg
Feeling: Tired and hungry
Weight: 174lbs
Exercise: 10 minute dog walk
You all know about my eternal hunt for pretty makeup bags, and my latest search has shown me something rather cuddly and cute. What do you think of when you think of the Sex Pistols? I think sweat, punk, crazy rockers and mashed up hotel rooms. If it came to giving that impression a scent, well, I'd be a little flummoxed. This hasn't been a problem for the creators of the Sex Pistols scent though, as they've taken the 'best'impressions of the Pistols and done away with the grease or slime connotations.
The unisex fragrance combines a tangy lemon with black pepper base for a memorable scent. They've also added leather, patchouli and heliotrope to balance those out, and I'm guessing the overall concoction will be a Marmite fragrance, getting some major devotees, and some major haters. Which side do I fall on? I'll tell you once I've tried it!
I'd like to say that matte has finally come back into fashion, but hellooo, it has been stylish at least a year now, since last years fashion week. Still, there's no denying that makeup brands have woken up to the allure that shine free style offers, and there are currently many options for the nail obsessed girl. Perhaps the simplest offering is Revlon's Matte nail varnish range, where you simply choose one of their many intriguing colours, slap on a a coat or two and go. That may be a great way to get into the matte trend, but it does leave your beloved range of varnishes looking lonesome.
