Clinique and elf Waterproof Mascara

Elle recently voted Clinique’s Waterproof Gentle Mascara (£12.50) as a best buy, with a boast that it survived 20 lengths in the pool - no mean feat. Meanwhile I road tested eyes.lips.face Earth and Water double ended mascara. I loved the concept – regular mascara and waterproof mascara on in one tube. The mascara was ok (not special, not awful) but it didn’t fare so well on the waterproof front, sweat was no problem (6 hours in a sweltering car in a traffic jam) but it smudged when it came into contact with water (splashed on in a service station). But for only £1, it’s still amazing value.
