Like it or loathe it, judging by the amount of new products this year alone, fake tan is here to stay. This is the first of our round of up the latest products – we’ve endured all the foul smells and streaky knees so you don’t have to. To make it even easier for you to make a choice, we've rated each tanner out of five, look out for the sun ratings at the end of each post.
This product does exactly what it says it will, makes you look naturally sunkissed, and it does it effortlessly. There’s no baking in the sun risking wrinkles and sun cancer. Instead you simply apply like moisturizer and get on with your day. Personally I’d probably apply at night as the cream is heavier than my normal moisturizer and took a while to sink in, leaving me looking very shiny for a good while. But it’s geared up well for daytime use with SPF 12 to save your skin from the sun.
As a related note, from past experience, I'd recommend using a face-specific tanner and not just your body one, general tans can often be too dark for face skin tones and you can always build up the look with bronzer instead of OD-ing on the tan.
Colour: Totally natural light glow, could be built up for a more
tanned look.
Ease-of-application: A doddle, but takes a while to sink in and looks a
bit shiny for a while.
Appearance: This was so natural even I almost believed it was real, no streaks
anywhere.
Lasting Power: The packaging suggests reapplying every 2-3 days and I’d
say that was about right, after 3 days it had faded considerably but
evenly so there was no awful patchy stage.
Overall: An excellent facial tanner, easy to use and brilliant results.
Highly recommended.
It’s 3 for 2 on No 7 at Boots right now.
