Balmshell is the creation of identical Canadian twins Fiona and Jennifer (who look very Sweet Valley High), who knew nothing about the cosmetic industry but were driven by their love for lip gloss.
The result is a range of ten wearable shades in wonderfully tacky-fabulous packaging. There's shades for all of us, including hot fuchsia Shoe Fetish, for Shoewawa girls, peachy cream Curse of the Purse, for the Bag Ladies, and baby pink Shopaholic for Catwalk Queens. I tried the Balmshell Gloss in Selfridges on Saturday and it's a shimmery, fruity, and highly glossy concoction. Not only are these fab glosses, but you'll want to buy them just for their kitsch illustrated tubes. Which is no problem, because once you're all lipglossed out, the handle is reborn as a keychain.
