Jessica Simpson Ken Paves Hairdo Hairuwear Clip-in Extensions

Ken_paves_hair_do_jessica_simpson

It's been a while since we mentioned Jessica Simpson's hair extension range, but I had a reminder this morning when a sample hair piece was fed-exed to my door. As you can see, the results are pretty impressive - it took literally 5 minutes to put in (it is as easy as they claim), matched perfectly with my own hair, and looked far better than I ever thought a hair piece would...

Although in the pictures the extension is a little bit more reflective, in real life it's really hard to tell the difference between the two. I never would have bought this before, but now I'm loving it - I've stopped scoffing at extensions and realised that the only way I can get celeb hair is by faking it, if you can't beat 'em join 'em. My hair looks so much thicker, and it did that fantastic flicky thing at the ends that mine will never do naturally. I'm not sure I'm going to be wearing this everyday - but for a big occasion it would be perfect.

Prices start from $77.50 and you can see Jessica modelling each style on the hairdo website.

That looks lovely! Can you take it out just as easily, or would you have to leave them in now?

Wow. I want one now. And I never thought I'd say that about anything Jessica Simpson-ish. Any chance they sent you blonde as well?!

Posted by: Gemma | October 10, 2006 5:48 PM

No they come straight out - they are only clipped in! didn't explain that bit very well did I! There's six little clips where you put it on your hair underneath, then you just unclip it when you want to take it off!

It looks great! Did they send you the version made of genuine hair, or their less expensive model?

Any chance that you'll post a how-to video?

Hi Cris,

It's the synthetic hair version, but it looks very realistic, there's a how-to video on the hairdo site here:http://www.hairuwear.com/jessica.aspx?pgID=998

but I'll try and make one soon for you!

Ive been wearing extensions for a while now, only using some of the best hair and getting it professionally done, the cost of my hair isnt important. Its things like this that are wrong. These extensions, which are synthetic, cost 100 and something, just the hair, and to get it put in (if you do) is additional. It'll come up to about $200 CA for SYNTHETIC hair which you cant style or anything, if you straighten it it will burn and damage, basically like playing with a barbie's hair. Jessica Simpsons real hair are about $600 CA (a salon told me) plus additional costs if you get it put in. Thats about $700 CA for "human" hair extensions that are clip in, meaning if your not someone that pays close attention to their hair, you might lose a piece walking down the street. Im not saying her extnesions are horrible though, some people like them a lot, abut if you are already set on spending money to get your hair/extensions done good then this isnt the coreect way for you. Best Quality hair is VIRGIN HAIR its price is about $370 CA plus about 400 to get them in by fisson, which is the best way possible, so for about $800 CA you have EXCELLENT hair, with the best quality extensions and best/most secure method of putting them in. That is onlt $100 CA more than the Jessica Simpson clip-ins. Now you determine which is the better choice. I just wanted to inform you. If you have any questions about extensions, you can email me at babyphat225@hotmail.com and ill be more than happy to help you out.

Hi Charlotte, I am thinking about buying Jessica Simpsons real human hair extensions in colour Chesnut, however I'm not sure if this will match my exsisting haircolour, does the Chesnut have alot of reddy tones? If I emailed photos or something of my exsisting haircolour could you tell if it would match having already tried the Chesnut extensions in your hair? The colour charts aren't very helpful. Thank you.

Posted by: Charlotte Rae | August 9, 2007 1:46 PM

Hi Charlotte,

The colour in the picture is a pretty accurate representation. The main reason it matched my hair so well is that I had just dyed my hair a chestnut shade also. So the only thing I could suggest is using a wash-in, wash-out hair colour if they didn't match exactly.

You might be able to get swatches, also, if you contacted Hair do.

To answer your other question - I didn't find it particulary reddy toned, it's more like the colour representation in the second picture (front on) than the back view.

Hope that helps a bit!

Hi Charlotte,
Thank you for your speedy response. Can you tell me if you would consider the Chesnut colour to have alot of reddy tones in it or is it more of a neutral colour and do you think the Chesnut colour is medium brown or light brown? I live in Scotland so if I were to request sample colours prior to ordering I would prob have to wait a while to receive it. I don't know how to post photos but I think this might work if you don't mind taking a look? I have posted the URL of my most recent uploaded photo to myspace which shows my natural hair colour, I really appreciate your help. Thank you.

now i have a question..
can you straighten and/or curl these jessica simpson extensionss and what do you do if they dont have the exact color of your hair?

like mine is blonde on top and then like darker underneath
so would i go more for the darker color underneath my hair !?

Posted by: Kar | August 31, 2007 11:36 PM

Hi Kar,

I'm not sure if you can straighten or curl them, I would guess not, but you could check out the official website. Hmm if your hair is not all one colour it may be tricky. I would choose the colour closest to the top of your hair as you tuck away the underneath of your own hair. I will try to do a video for you later.

Hi
I too fell in love with the Jessica Simpson hair piece,But I have to agree totally with Vivien. You are far better off investing in Human hair extensions. The hair piece only lokks good for the first couple of times you wear it but then becomes very knotty and dry.You can't style them by using any sort of hair appliances as they do just fry away and melt. You also can't sleep with them in at night. Save your pennies and save up for th real deal! :)

i have purchased the human hair jessica clip-in extensions a few mionths ago. I'm really disappointed because the tangle up and getknotty really quickly. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem. Would really appreciate any comments!
