Yay or Nay: Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Maybelline_great_lash It seems black polish isn't quite the hit it's made out to be, with only eight of you voting, six of you loved the trend and two (which just happened to be Catwalk Queen Gemma and The Bag Lady Kat) wouldn't wear it for love nor money.

Moving on from vampy nails, I want to know your opinion on Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara. It celebrates its 35th birthday this month and is still America's number one mascara. Personally I can't see why, but what do you think? Yay or Nay and why?

Hi,

For the record before I comment I wouldn't EVER wear black nail polish.

That said I love Maybelline but I think they've done WAY better products. Full'n'soft was my fav for ages now I use their Volume Express.

So I guess my vote would be nay.

Yay. Its a good cheap mascara, which I would use again probably. However..

My personal faves are:

*Benefit BadGAL!

*Maxfactor masterpiece

The benefit is really good for dramatic lashes beacuse the brush is really thick but the downside to this is that its so chunky it can't help but smear on the eyelids when applying! Cool packaging though and lasts a decent while!

The Maxfactor one is great as the bristles are rubbery and don't have loads of excess mascara on them, so when you pull it out the tube you dont have to wipe the brush around the edge to remove unwanted mascara. Moderately priced aswell!

I say Yay, because it works really good on me and is perfect right before paycheck (why does mascaras and foundations always run out right before payday?) But I noticed that ths is a hate or love thing, I love and my friends despise it because it doesn´t work for them

It used to be a yay from me.

I was in highschool and it was a nice "branded" mascara that worked well enough.

Unfortunately it has now moved a nay, as there are many many superior mascaras for only a few dollars more.

Clinique works well as my every day mascara, and Benefit Bad Girl Lash is the mascara that I swear by.

Nay. An overrated and over hyped product. It does nothing for my eyelashes and too easily smudged.
