Yay or Nay: Palettes

Two_faced_palette Palettes. You know, wonderful things that fold out to reveal 15 lipglosses and 27 eyeshadows (of which Two Faced's 'beauty binge' glamour palette is a fine example) all contained in one handy box. Or is it? It always seems such a good deal at the time, when you walk away smugly lugging your 100 colours for the price of 10. When you only use one and you have to cart the whole thing everywhere it somehow doesn't seem such a coup. What's your take? Yay or Nay and why?

Last week you (and me) loved Touche Eclat despite the price tag, but Sarah preferred the No 7 version - which we've always got a lot of love for as well!

Yay or Nay: Palettes - Comments

I think its a nay from this corner, only because I've never experienced a good palette. Having said that, I do have my greedy little eyes on some of the benefit lovelies. But alas, I always back off, too easily put off by memories of flaking blusher ruining the pale eyeshadow, the melting of the lipstick and the smearing of the teeny tiny little mirror. SO its a nay, unless anyone here can truly change my mind...

  • I've only got a "me too" comment - usually palettes are a rip-off because you only use one colour of the 25 eyeshadows regularly anyway, but the Quickie Chronicles get it right. When I go on a trip and need to be light, Heartbreaker is all I pack. Not to mention that I think the Too Faced products smell yummy as well.

  • Big Yay. Five years ago I probably would have gone the other way, but I'd be lost without Too Faced quickie chronicles and so on now. Palettes have come a long way since those awful christmas gifts full of hot pink lipstick and yellow eyeshadow!

I adore palletes and have quite a few. Urban Decay Powder Shadow box is my fave, but I think the Too Faced Quickie Chronicles follow a close second.
