Yay or Nay: Benefit Cosmetics

Benefit_cosmetics Can anyone really dislike the original quirky cosmetics company? I've racked my brain for negatives and the only one I can dredge up is the prices. But that's what ebay is for, no? I'm sure some of you will beg to differ, so tell me, Benefit - Yay or Nay and why?

Shown is Dancing Darlings Lipgloss set (£14).

Last week you debated the merits of blonde vs brown, and told me, quite rightfully, that there was plenty more colours in the rainbow to choose from. Consider my wrist slapped!

Yay or Nay: Benefit Cosmetics - Comments

  • Dena

I have to say yay to Benefit. I am from the US so I cant comment on Uk prices, but here they are less expensive than most other lines, and work just as well. I see that people comment that they prefer to use classier lines, like Dior, but Benefit and Dior are both owned by L.V. Their DiorShow mascara is the exact same....compare both visually and ingredient wise, the difference? Benefit is a true black and cheaper, while diorshow is a brownblack and costs more. Their products offer quick fixes that any woman can do in 20 minutes flat, without spending extra time blending contouring and using multiple products. My favs? Eyebright...make a horeshoe around the eye and you dont have to use the highbrow. BrowZings look way better than other wax combos because its not as pomade-like as well. The dallas must be used with a brush different than the one it comes with, but looks great if applied with a nice blush brush. My one complaint is You Rebel. I love the feel and look, but it doesnt match me in the winter. If it would come in maybe a light medium and dark it would be better. I blend mine with the playstick and everyone asks me how i get my skin to glow that way. it looks perfect even though it costs a little more, its worth it to use both products. I say Yay for benefit...but get rid of the one shade fits all....

  • Nay.

Why? Because, the products are generally no good. The packaging and names are quirky and cool, but the products definitely don't live up to that. They are full of rubbish, and are totally overpriced for what they are. I must say, the correctors are often quite good, especially the concealers and highlighters.

I stand by Lush's sister cosmetics company. It is reasonably priced and all of the ingredients are natural, so it doesn't harm your skin.

The assistants in the uk are so friendly and helful..

I use the benefit counter in house of fraser and the i have a right laugh everytime i go in..

Although the prices are like, way high, i really dont care because the makeup is good, it works and the packaging is the cutest around!

I absolutley love the your bluffing concealer stick& their new sheer foundation (that looks like a record) is an absolute godsend!

plus, i love dr. feelgood and moonbeam..georgia blush has a gorgeous scent, texture and colour

    !!YAY

I looove Benefit. But I haaatte their prices. And some of their assistants. But overall YAY!

  • Yay from me. I like the quirk packaging and cute names and despite having super senstive skin, the products don't seem to affect me.

The prices are a bit too much though.
