Festival survival for the beauty addict

Festival_kit_beauty_junkie
We did a festival beauty essentials round-up last year, but what with the launch of our new festival blog, My Chemical Toilet, we thought it could do with an update. While the original post included the essentials; anti-bacterial wipes, make up remover buds, wipe on sunscreen and the like. This list is for beauty junkies who are more used to lugging around a case of this size. Just don't do what I did and forget where you put your tent at Glastonbury, it's no just being totally prepared if you can't use any of it.

Keep reading for the details and stockists...

From left to right:

1. Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner (£2.25). Protects lips, perfect as an emergency moisturiser for dry skin patches or neglected cuticles.
2. Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara (£4.99). Cheap enough so you won't mind if you drop it down the portaloo, waterproof enough to withstand a rain storm.
3. MAC Tendertones (£10.50) contain SPF 12 and they look pretty. Perfect for adding a bit of glamour to your festival appearance and making you feel a bit better about your unwashed self.
4. Dermalogica Skin Purifying Wipes (£9.85) will keep spots at bay.
5. Silkit cordless straighteners (£89.50). Take only if you are surgically attached to your straighteners and if you can afford to have them stolen.
6. Stila Foundation Powder (£18). Tackles shine, evens skin tone, and protects your skin from the sun. Also contains a mirror if you dare use it. I recommend not.
7.   Batiste Dry Shampoo (£2.09) - much easier than washing your hair in freezing outdoor showers!
