The original beauty blogger, Jolie in NYC aka ex Beauty Editor Nadine Haobsh (in a nutshell, she blogged about all her beauty freebies, got found out, got fired, got a book deal) is getting geared up to launch her first book, a non-fiction beauty guide, and has started releasing teasers on her website. I'm pleased to see it reads just like her fun blog, but I hope she dishes some more Beauty Editor secrets in there somewhere - I have to admit that was my favourite part of her blog before she got outed. Here's a snippet...
For whatever reason, our society has decided that being tan = being prettier, with few exceptions. (There are always exceptions. Many people can--and do--go way, way overboard on the color. For the love of God, let Donatella Versace be a warning to you!) It does kind of make sense; the darker your complexion, the less light bouncing off your face, and so the smaller it appears...maybe? Anybody?
