Buy British! Homegrown beauty products
It's sometimes hard to know what brands are homegrown and what's been imported from America or elsewhere, so here's a (not at all definitive) list to 'Made in Britain' beauty goodness. And by Britain, I mean England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and any other islands associated with the British Isles. If you think of a brand I've left off, let me know in the comments or by email and I'll add it on! If there's mistakes, I apologise. In alphabetical order...

*Eve Lom herself isn't British, but she started her range in London.
** Although they have British origins The Body Shop, Rimmel, and John Frieda have all now been sold to larger companies, none of which (I believe) are British owned.
*** Stella McCartney is British, although CARE was launched in the US first. Traitor!
**** As Katarina pointed out, although Pop and Pixi are British companies, the three women behind it are in fact Swedish.
***** Soap and Glory was suggested by reader Gayle, and it was launched in the UK first. But it's a slightly dubious one because the creator Marcia Kilgore is Canadian and the product line is also available in the US.
