On the face of it, eyelash extensions are very tempting - who wouldn't want fluttery lashes twice as long as the ones god gave us? If you're thinking about getting extensions, here's what you need to know...
It takes a long time. Expect to be laying down with your lashes taped down for up to three hours for your first application. Eyelashes are attached one at a time so it's easy to see why it takes so long.
It's expensive. The initial application costs around £75 to £150, and then you'll need upkeep lashes attached around every three weeks. This costs around £20 to £30 or £1 per eyelash...
You can't wear mascara. Mascara is a no-no once your extensions
are attached, and eye make up should be kept to a minimum if you want
your lashes to last well, as using eye make up remover can shorten
their lifetime.
Action girls beware. Activities like swimming will also shorten
their lifestyle, and I've heard stories of women who shower in
snorkelling masks to protect their lashes. Extensions are high
maintenance!
