L'Oreal Color Riche Made for Me Naturals Nude Lipstick

Pick up any magazine at the moment, and you'll find a beauty editor proclaiming nude lips to be the big beauty trend for lips. Problem is, 'nude' could mean anything from peachy pinks, beige hues, sheer lipgloss or stained lips. There's also no suit-all nude shade, picking a nude lipstick that works for you is just as difficult as finding your ideal red.

L'Oreal are continuing their hair-colour-based makeup branding with their new range of 'made for me' natural lip colours, divided into blonde, dark blonde, dark brunette, light brunette and dark skin tone. Does it work? I tried out the two designated for my hair colour, light brunette, and was pleasantly impressed...

Sometimes, beauty products divided by hair colour can mean naff all when it comes to actually suiting you. L'Oreal's brunette bronzer was far too dark for me as a fair skinned brunette. I also find it terrifically difficult to find shades of lipstick I like and that suit me. So I actually surprised myself by liking both the shades L'Oreal has earmarked for light brunettes, Cashmere and Orchid, both of which didn't make me look washed out or pink-of-cheeks like so many lipsticks do. In a beauty utopia, I'd have liked them to be slightly more matte, but at £5 each (that's the price they are in Asda right now, anyhow) budget beauty gals can't be choosers.
