Review: LVF Mineral Makeup Foundation

Lvf_mineral_make_up

I was shocked to read an article in the Daily Mail where their beauty writer Kay Montano confessed to just discovering mineral makeup. Just a little behind, perhaps! If you haven't discovered mineral makeup yet either, then LVF could be a great place to start.

I've tried several mineral makeup brands, including Lily Lolo, and LVF is now my current favourite (yes, even above Bare Escentuals). It could be because Ashlie, the fairest shade, was the closest match I've had to my skin tone yet, but there was plenty of other plus points to this brand...

I'm going to go with bullet points for this one...

  • You only needed the teeniest, tiniest amount. I know this is true generally with mineral makeup, but I found this to be even more so the case with LVF.
  • It wasn't too matte, or too shiny. Mostly, people complain of mineral makeup being too shiny - but I actually found Lily Lolo a touch on the matte side. LVF was right in the minute - there was still a glow, but nothing I would call 'shine'.
  • It's cheaper than Bare Escentuals and comes from Britain. Let's face it, good prices always win my heart.

If you fancy giving LVF a go, the foundation shades are priced at £12.50 each, with 20% off for new customers with the coupon code PFJENR.

My fave mineral makeup is www.everydayminerals.com. They are American but they ship to UK and their prices are fantastic! I first fell in love with mineral makeup with BE but it is rather pricey. EM are cheaper and better.

If you´re searching for your shade, you should give Meow Cosmetics a try. Their is no company with that many shades and formulars! (Haven´t found mine yet ;-))

I'm an everyday minerals junkie myself.
Especially because they can ship it to me in Canada.
But seeing as I'm moving to Britain to be with my future hubby sometime next year it's nice to know of some products manufactured over there.

I really want to try this! But do you really need to buy the 'special' brushes they advertise or can you use any?

Hi Steph, you can use any kabuki brush, there's plenty of cheap ones available now. You could try using a blusher brush but I don't think it would work so well for buffing the minerals on.
