Review: Nivea Oxygen Power Reviving Day Cream part 1
The Nivea Oxygen Power Testers have been dutifully testing the new Nivea Oxygen Power Reviving Day Cream for a little while now, and they'll be sharing their initial thoughts with you throughout the week...
I've been using the Nivea Visage Oxygen Power "Reviving Day Cream" for
just over a week and am reasonably
pleased with it. It smells very fresh and pleasant, and sinks in nicely...
I have very greasy, oily skin and I usually find that moisturisers
that aren't specifically for oily skin make me even greasier and
oilier. This isn't doing that, and nor is it tightening the skin
unpleasantly as some moisturisers for oily skin do.
Is it *doing* anything, though? I'm not sure that, compared to using
no moisturiser at all, it's having any effect. Perhaps my skin is a
little softer. Certainly it's in good condition and I'm having no
break-outs or anything - but then, at this point in my cycle, I
wouldn't do. I shall be interested to see how it behaves in a couple
of weeks when I start getting spotty.
Oh! I used it a couple of times not on my face but on a sun-burnt
My only criticism is of the delivery method: it comes out of the
vessel very fast, so it was a bit wasteful at first until I'd learnt
to press the button only very briefly.
shoulder which was recovering from the burn but peeling a bit. It
dealt with *that* absolutely beautifully - much better than the
aqueous cream I'd been using!

I found the Oxygen power Reviving Day Cream to be very
moisturising and incredibly light in texture. One pump from the
aerosol type bottle was sufficient for your face and neck. The texture
of the cream was as light as a mousse, on application it felt cold and
the consistency turned almost like water on your skin so it was easily
absorbed. Once on it sat nicely under my make-up and did not aggravate
my oily skin. I do prefer the Oxygen Power over my usual moisturiser
as it is much lighter and perhaps more suited to this time of the
year. My skin was not noticeably brighter but I do have fairly clear
skin to start with and it certainly did not make it worst!

It's an acceptable moisturiser, although a bit thicker and
creamier than my usual Boots Botanics Oil-Free Moisturiser. It blends
into the skin fairly quickly, but seems a bit greasier than the
oil-free I regularly use.
I didn't notice any "radiance" or "brightness" about my skin when
using it, however. And I'm still not entirely certain how the oxygen
is included in the moisturiser. It doesn't have a whipped consistency
nor does it bubble with effervescence, and yet the ingredients do say
"Oxygen".
So I spent each morning trying to figure out the science behind it.
Which made each day a little stranger and me a bit more cynical.
