This is the first Lancome mascara we've officially tested here on Kiss and Makeup, and here's how it fared...
The blurb: Inspired by make-up artistry from Paris to NY and Japanese techniques of layering. Two mascaras in one: - One defines and lengthens - The other volumizes in the lashes that you want – outer lashes, fake lash effect.
The brush: Double ended - one is a brush, the other a mini comb.
The tube: Super long due to the double brushes and with shiny silver bits that make it feel more luxe...
The application: A bit tricky! I had several unsuccessful practice goes before I could even take the pictures. Go too crazy with the definition brush, and you'll be in clump city. Once you've had a few goes though, it does get easier.
The price: £23
The location: Lancome counters, and online.
The verdict: Once you get the hang of it, I can see how this could produce great results, but for me, it's a little bit too money and a little bit too much work. You can get ultra-defined and ultra-precise lashes with this, but I'm a little too impatient to work on it. If you have the time (and a steady hand), you could sculpt and design your lashes in a way that other mascaras wouldn't allow.
Best for: The false lash effect. Use the defining brush on
your longest strands for a faux false lash effect. But beware, you'll
need a lot of time and practice goes to perfect this look. Perhaps one
to save for a special occasion where you've got all day to get ready.
Score: Everyday - 3/5 Special Occasion - 4/5
