How to stop hair wilting in heat, by Demi Moore's hairdresser Tara Smith

This is the routine a-list hairdresser Tara Smith used on Demi Moore on set in 100 degree Louisiana heat, so if it can survive that (and judging by the pictures, it did) it should sure as hell survive a night on the dance floor. Here's how she did it...

"Firstly, I blow dried the hair with a Daniel Hersheson ceramic barrel brush (though any good ceramic barrel brush will work), which holds heat inside for lasting staying power. I then dried the hair section by section with a Tourmaline hairdryer using Nioxin’s volumizing root lifter. The top section of hair (the halo-like, u-shaped section at the top of the head) was pulled forward and blow-dried in the opposite direction to where it’s going to lie to give extra root lift. I then used a serum from my own product line which is currently in development on the ends, again any good serum will work."

Nioxin's Volumizing Root Lifter is available from HQHair for £11.95, and Daniel Hersheson's ceramic brushes start from £16.
