Yay or Nay: Long nails
Long nails aren't as fashionable as they used to be, and personally, I much prefer short, neat nails to long talons. My reasons are three-fold, long nails are impractical, impossible to obtain (for me anyway) and I think they look tacky. But what are your thoughts?

NAY!! I agree: impractical and unbelievably tacky. I keep my nails 1 or 2 millimetres longer than my fingers, never anymore than that!

Nay! I don't like the look of them either, but I also find them impossible to type with. My nails seems to grow at a rate of knots, so I have to file them down a couple of times a week. I can't stand the feeling on long nails on a keyboard, and the upkeep is way too much for a lazy girl like me.
So, yes, that would be a 'nay', then :)

Ewww, nay! Like Amber, I can't stand long nails on a keyboard, and just seeing those pictures after the jump made me sick. I'm off to look at lovely shoes to help my lunch stay down now...

A definate nay. To be pratical how do those people do anything with those gross, curving, long nails? You wouldn't be able to pick up a glass or um...take care of yourself.

Erk - nayus maximus!! I nice neat nail is so much nicer looking than Cruella D'vil style talons! And question: how does the one with long toe nails manage walking!?

Neat , short manicured nail look really sophisticated in my opinion , personally i do not like long nails even in a practical level.
I have never had false nails , never will but my nails are neat manicured. If i am going out anywhere special i find a well applied current colour is enough

obviously the examples are horrible, but I LOVE long nails. Not in the extreme, but I just love my nails to be long! Luckily mine are strong and hardly ever break, but it pains my heart to have to cut them. They're not that impractical either!

Definitely Yay for a moderate length! I love keeping my nails done. These days usually I keep my nails about 1/4-1/2" past the fingertip. I think that is beautiful and elegant. I have gone to about an inch which can be fun and very dramatic, but too much longer than that and it becomes too eccentric looking. I get lets of nice compliments about them from people, both women and men. Most people like the way they look but don't think it would be practical, but you'd be surprised. It's just a matter of getting used to it. I can do everything without a problem.
