Ask the team: Find me budget alternatives to Benefit Moon Beam

ask%20the%20team.jpgWe've had an email from Silvia asking for budget alternatives to Benefit's £15.50 Moon Beam. Well, Silvia, your luck is in, thanks to the popularity of Moom Beam and High Beam, a bus load of companies have created their own not-so-steeply-priced highlighters, and usually, they work just as well.

Keep reading to see our recommendations for a cheap glow...

1. Revlon Skinlights Illuminator is a great cheapo highligher which I fear may have been discontinued. But the plus side is that you can buy it all over the internet for discounted prices. It's only £4.45 at Beauty Spot Cosmetics.

2. Me Me Me's Beat the Blues is fantastic for really tight budgets as it only costs a tiny £4.50. It's a slightly thicker consistency than Benefit's highlighter, but it still gives a great result for the price. It's also available in Moom Beam and High Beam alike shades. Check it out in Superdrug.

3. Barbara Daly Make Up for Tesco Radiant Touch is a more subtle version of the Beams, giving a luminous wash of pearl for a glowing complexion for only £6.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg, there's loads more cheaper variations out there. Does anyone have a favourite they'd like to recommend?

Hi thanks for featuring our bronzer in deluxe vs dirt cheap, the link to the website is great

being a bit of stickler for details I just wanted to point out that i-broznze and skin mineralize are made in the same factory by the same manufacturer and are identical in formulation. which makes i-bronze a a perfect alternative (even if you are only saving £1.50). If you ever need any other products to try please let me know

    Many thanks

On a recent day trip to France I found some great illuminators at Sephora (when, oh when are they coming back to the UK???) Including a fab white one which makes my winter pale skin really glow. Fab packaging and not too expensive either!

Me Me Me also have a product called Pussy Cat which is eerily similar to Benefit's Benetint (and in a matching bottle to their Beat the Blues - very cute). It's a nice pinky red, but watch out when using it as a lip stain cause it tastes horrible.

Too Faced Liquid Light Highlighter is really good.
