Deluxe vs Dirt Cheap: Philosophy and Tesco

I'll give you two guesses where Tesco got their inspiration for their new Treaclemoon collection. In fact, I think you'll only need one given the whopping great picture above. Yep, it's blatantly 'inspired' by Philosophy, but that's where the similarities end. The prices are poles apart. While Philosophy's Bath and Shower Gel is £14.50, Tesco's version is an amazing £2.97. So if you've always wanted to bathe in Philosophy but never had the money, now there's a very similar looking budget option! Treaclemoon Bath and Shower Gel is available in Vanilla, Raspberry, Ginger and Tangerine.

I've used both, and definitely prefer the Philosophy. I don't like the smell of the Treaclemoon nearly as much - it has a bit of a fake plastic-y note to me that the Philosophy doesn't have. Still, it's quite nice and definitely worth a try at that price.

Asda has a range too! But I only remember the scents rasberry milkshake and vanilla creme brulee. I bought the creme brulee one but sadly got allergic reactions to it.

I have this very bubble bath at home, and it has a matching exfoliating scrub for a similar price. I've never tried Philosophy products (Can afford it!) but the Tesco one smells lovely. I find that the exfoliating scrub is quite drying on you skin though, and makes it feel too tight.

Great price though, the bubble bath is defiantly worth a try!

  • Have you tried the Tesco version yet? It definitely looks great -- I'm wondering if it really measures up to Philosophy's though?
