Treatment review: Luxury High Gloss Diamond Polish at the Toothplace
We all know how hard it is to find a dentist nowadays, what with everyone turning private and the idea of an NHS appointment a mythical dream. Well stepping into the sorely needed gap in the market comes Toothplace, a walk in tooth cleaning centre, with no appointment necessary. Now you can freshen up in your lunch hour and walk out with a sparkling smile. I tested out their Luxury High Gloss Diamond Polish to see what all the fuss was about,
I was pleasantly surprised when entering as the interior was cool an calm, a far stretch away from the plaid carpeted dentists of my childhood and a selection of up to date magazines were on offer (always important).
To start with I had some close up photos taken of my teeth, which was quite scary as I got to see the evil plaque up close and was reminded of why I should floss more regularly. Once my gigantic molars disappeared off the screen we set to reversing the damage with a heavy duty clean. First off I had a good scrub followed up with an intensive stain removing session that involved removing dirt and debris and polishing using a a high power air polishing jet combined with a diamond polishing paste. It felt quite strange, like my mouth was vibrating, but didn't hurt and the after effects was a mouth that gleamed. The jets left my teeth with a lovely gloss finish, and I left vowing to stop my 3 a day java habit.
No matter how much you dress up visiting the dentist it's never going to be a glamorous experience as lying back in the chair whilst slightly dribbling can never be described as luxurious, but the staff at Toothplace made it as painless as possible, and my teeth did look super shiny afterwards! It's a great way to get in a quick visit to the hygienist and to stave off all those guilty feelings about neglecting your oral hygiene.
