Rediscovering an old love - Lush's 'Marilyn' hair mask

marilyn.jpgIt's a good thing I'm single, because I don't make a very attractive sight when I go to bed with my hair absolutely saturated in Marilyn - Lush's £6.95 hair treatment for blonde hair - with a nice layer of cling film and a thick black hairband to finish the fetching look. It's not exactly sexy, but the results are worth it, and I'm not even a proper blonde any more! Lush's hair treatments (more like a pre-wash mask than anything else) are really only meant to be left on for 20 minutes or so, but I love leaving this on for much longer for a really deep conditioning treat.

The product softens and smooths the hair without leaving it greasy, and, like with other Lush products, even after shampooing and conditioning (sparingly) afterwards I could still smell the lemon and chamomile. It's worth using just for the conditioning, softening power, but if you want to lift the colour too I recommend plastering it over your entire locks before sitting out in the Sun. Not only will it help to keep your hair looking shiny, it should slowly bring out the golden gleam in naturally fair hair too.
