Gwen has a finger in many pies, from music to fashion, and now beauty. Her L.A.M.B. perfume was pretty well received, so shes decided to go ahead with another fragrance, five to be exact. Each fragrance reflects the personality of her and her four backing dancers, and each has a cute Lil Harajuku doll to go with it!
"I didn't think this project would actually come to life," Stefani said. "The idea that Coty would let me do five different fragrances for Harajuku Lovers was a fantasy. [But] it really had to be five, because that's what the world is. Each girl has her own personality and sense of style. We're all saying something different with unique personalities."
The Harajuku bottle is made up of a glass base, with a doll stopper that lifts off to reveal the perfume inside. The packaging also gives the back story on the doll, and info about their life. The five fragrances are called Love, Lil Angel, Music baby and G, and each is created to appeal to a different aspect of personality.
Love has notes of vanilla and amber whilst Lil' Angel is a fruity floral and Music a mixture of jasmine and honeysuckle. Baby is a powdery musk, whilst G (which appeals to me the most) has top notes of crisp mandarin, fresh coconut and apple skin. I love how the different dolls really seem to reflect the people's personality (look at the Gwen version with blonde ringlets and uber cute headband) and think it's very brave of her to try releasing 5 at the same time.
I'll definitely be getting one in September, but which Harajuku will I be?
