The sun is featuring more prominently in the sky on a day-to-day basis, which can only mean one thing: Summer perfumes! Yes, every designer going is now bringing out their limited edition summer scents, but whether they're any good is another matter. I've just tested Issey Miyake's latest offering, and I have to say, I'm very impressed.

Featuring a bottle which has been designed by Santiago Marotto, it's full of airy fairy swirls of blue and white, and evokes the feel of water in all forms, from rain, to vapour , liquid and ice. But enough about the design and the inspiration behind it, what you want to know is what does it smell like?

Well, it's a very light scent but really refreshing. Made with notes of rosewater ad peony it immediately makes you fee revitalised and energised, whilst sitting really softly on the skin. After a little while you start to notice the slightly heavier notes of precious woods, which give it an earthier oaky feel, but then it settles into a light sigh across the body, which feels like a cold hand passing over your face whilst you nap. If I had any criticisms it would dbe that this scent is almost to elusive, and gives more of a fleeting wave than a rush of fragrance, but if you're looking for gentle and subtle this is the one for you this summer.

It's £34.50 from Issey Miyake, exclusively at House of Fraser stores .
