Who'd have thought my English degree would come in useful in the field of beauty? Obviously spelling and grammar come bundled in with that ( or Spellcheck), but when we get into terms such as oxymoron my heart does little jumps. Look at me, I don't even need to look that up! Hopefully I'll be asked to explain the difference between simile and metaphors next. Or- say it with me- Onomatopoeia. You trembled, right?

Well Lipstick Queen have just introduced a new lip gloss which gives a matte finish called Oxymoron ( a contradiction in terms).

It can be used on lips or cheeks, an comes in four excitingly titled shades. You can choose between the Honest Politician ( a pinky brown), the Free Ride (peach), Deafening Silence (beige nude) and the lovely Minor Crisis (rosy pink).

'This weird and wonderful concept came about when the lab that makes my lipsticks showed me a most unusual lip product they had invented. It felt like gloss but looked matte. It was matte gloss!' says designer Poppy King, and it's certainly a quirky enough idea that I could see it being popular.

It's £18.00 from Space NK
and once I've tested it I'll give you the lowdown.
