Pigeons pooping is one of things in life you try to ignore, such as chewing gum stuck to your shoe, or a day when you know you haven't blended your foundation properly. As such it seems slightly odd that people would voluntarily smear excrement on their face, but hey, some people drink their own pee after all. These people however are paying $180 for the privilege!

Available in New York, the Geisha facial is available at the Shizuka spa, and contains nightingale excrement. OK, I suppose that's a bit harder to find than pigeon poop, but still... The powder is known as 'ugisu no fun' and is rich in amino acid guanine which is said to brightened he skin. I could imagine it working as a gentle peel, as bird poop is quite acidic. Think of how many birds you see with one leg- that's because they stand in their own waste and it destroys their legs!

I'm still not sure I'd fancy a go, as they have to treat the powder with ultraviolet light to kill bacteria and mix it with bran to disguise the smell. All this before it touches your face... I think I'll pass on this one.
