Now here is a hairstyle that took some effort!
While I could take or leave the sparkly / smokey eye and red lip combo (because we've all seen it a million times before) I think Ashanti's BET Awards hairdo is a great modern take on something very vintage, and it's a nice change from long, flowing waves or a poker-straight weave.
Harking back to the classic 40s victory roll, with an added hint of the pompadour, the style would definitely turn heads if it was recreated off the red carpet, but it worked really well with the bejeweled dress the singer wore, and was perfect for such a glam ceremony.
