For the last four weeks out testers have been dutifully rubbing and massaging away, and we can now bring you their verdict on the latest Nivea cream.

'I've been using the Nivea My Silhouette for around three weeks now. While I can't say I've noticed any slimming effects, what it has done is tone up the skin, especially on my arms, and I've seen an improvement on my cellulite - in fact I found it actually works better than the Goodbye Cellulite by Nivea.

I found it very easy to use. The texture and consistency was just right, not too runny, but not so thick that it takes an age to rub in. It's not too cold either so it's not a shock to the system when you apply it. Once applied it's absorbed very quickly and dries very easily, and doesn't leave any sticky residue, so you can get get dressed fairly quickly.

The fragrance is quite pleasant, without being too strong, although I don't how if it would clash with other fragrances as I tended to use mine at night. Oh, and a little goes a long way - you don't need to use huge handfuls of the stuff!

I've actually bought a couple more tubes while it's on special offer at Boots, as I'm definitely going to continue using it.'

'I have come to the end of the trial - and to the end of the contents of my Nivea My Silhouette tube - and I must declare, I have noticed absolutely no difference to my skin or 'silhouette' since the start of the month long test. However, I shall stick by my earlier comments on the gel - it has a lovely texture, smells great and is very easily absorbed - and if I'm honest, gave my own personal silhouette an itsy-bitsy amount of temporary hope over the last month that it would be whipped into a Kate Moss like shape! Alas, that did not happen.

Sadly, I wouldn't personally buy it or use it again - I think I would be more inclined to buy a Nivea moisturiser and a bucket load of fake tan for the purpose of disguising my wobbly/less toned bits. So, it's back to apples and press-ups for me!'

'You know... it looks like the green slime that people used to get dumped over their heads on Saturday morning children's TV. Has Mike Read had a hand in the product development?'
