Everyones favourite TV presenter Fern Britton recently admitted to having had a gastric band operation two years ago. The fact that she did this is neither here nor there, as everyone has a right to do as they see fit to their body, but the question on everybody's lips is, 'Should she have spoken out about it earlier?'

In the last two years Fern (not surprisingly) has lost a large amount of weight, but as she stayed schtum about the surgery people assumed it was down to diet and exercise. Did she have a duty as a public figure to tell people how she lost the weight, and not make them think it was easy to lose without surgery,or does she have a right to keep her health affairs private? I can't answer that one, so it's over to you folks.
