We get our fair share of anti-ageing products at Kiss and Makeup, but Zara and I tend not to test them ourselves. After all, what can a 24-year-old really say about wrinkle creams that isn't in the press release?
Instead, I end up sending stuff to the other woman I trust to be honest. My mother. Unfortunately, she tends to use one thing completely before even thinking of moving on. The result? £200 worth of brand new Dior skincare products sitting untouched on her dresser because she won't stop using the above range...
And The Body Shop's 'Wise Woman' range (for the over fifties) has definitely gets the thumbs up from ma Cartwright...
Mum's been using the £22 'Vitaliity Serum' and the Regenerating Night Cream (£20) on her skin for the last few months, and has been so impressed by the improvement in her skin that when I saw her last weekend she urged me to stroke it and see for myself.
I have to say, I was impressed. Though it hasn't magically turned her wrinkle-free (of course) the products do seem to have smoothed and refined the surface of her skin, leaving it softer and more even than before. At roughly half the price of most designer skincare brands, the products aren't bad value, and they seem to go a very long way. The night cream is really rich so a little goes a long way, and the serum - which is brilliant on dull complexions - lasts for ages too.
I'm always a bit unsure about buying anti-ageing products for older women as gifts - you never quite know how they'll take it. However this one concentrates on words like 'regenerating' and 'renewing' rather than ranting on about wrinkles, so it's a fairly safe choice if you fancy treating someone.
