In a a world where no one is too surprised when they invent a facial that uses bird droppings, I suppose dipping your feet in a fish bowl seems rather ordinary. The Yvonne Hair and Nail salon in Washington uses Garra rufa carp to eat away the dead skin from women's feet. I can't imagine that would be a nice sensation, but it's probably better than giggling when my pedicurist touches my toes (I'm ticklish, OK?)

The fish are kept in hot water which doesn't support a lot of aquatic life, so they have learned to feed themselves with whatever is available, and dead flaky foot skin s like dessert to them (Ew!) Live skin is left alone as they can't bite that off. The treatment cots $35 for 15 minutes and $50 for 30, and you do it depending on your pain threshold.

I think I might be giving this one a miss though. It's one thing snorkeling in a coral reef, and quite another letting fishes nibble on you. What's next, leeches for facials??
