Product Review: Dermalogica's Concealing Spot treatment

Concealing Spot Treatment1.jpg

There are many things you can do in the fight against acne. You can scrub, wash, moisturise and lather your face in benzoyl peroxide, but if you'd rather not end up red and raw I might have a better and more effective solution for you. Remember my excitement a little while back at a preview of Dermalogica's MediBac range? Well I've been faithfully testing their products and I gave to say they're really the best thing ever.

The concealer may retail for a lot (£28.50) but the fact that this will be your mainstay in zit zapping really makes it worth the moolah. It contains a tinted beige colour that conceals and easily blends in with your foundation.

I was a little bit dubious how a product that was that light could really be effective, but my doubts were overturned. It contains no benzoyl peroxide, yet is still strong enough to inhibit the sebaceous glands- those pesky things that produce too much sebum and causes clogging and spots.

The treatment is aimed at morning use and contains sacylic acid to exfoliate away dead skin, The spot zapping ingredients would be the inclusion of sulphur and zinc oxide as this eliminates bacteria, and there's even Sarcosine (for reducing sebum) and Niacinamoide for regulating sebum.

Phew, that's a four pronged attack. What I liked about this concealer was the way it just slotted into my beauty routine. It is possible to only use Dermalogica products if you wish, but if like me you have a few faves of your own you don't need to change all your toiletries.

It's contained in a small bottle which you MUST shake before use as the different products separate. I simply dabbed it on my skin in the morning and by the evening the redness had diminished and the spot was barely visible. An expert mentioned that she like sot use the treatment at night as it's gentle enough to work whilst you sleep. I'm really impressed with how effective this is, and it beats any other roll-ons or bacterial washes hands down.
