I've put on a couple of pounds since my last diet, and while I'm not sobbing into my pillow, it would be nice if my skinny jeans remain skinny (look they're a size 12, OK? Skinny means something different to everybody).
I decided to try a couple of weeks on the Diet Chef programme, especially since they've just launched a vegetarian meal selection. Often we poor veggies miss out on diets because of the limited options, but now there's finally a diet just for us, and it looks quite tasty as well.
I ordered the Vegetarian hamper, which costs £52.50 for a week and £105 for 2, not that much more than what you'd usually spend on food anyway at around £7.50 a day. For this I get breakfast (carb free granola cereal) lunch (a soup or shake) dinner ( 3meal options) as well as Nakd snack bars.
You're also allowed 2 fruit servings a day and a milk allowance to use with coffee and the granola. You are provided with around 1200 calories of low GI food, which should help you stay fuller for longer. Meals can be customized due to preference, and I was keen to get stuck in to week one.
Stats:
Height: 5'5
Dress Size: 12
Age: 25
Weight: You must be joking!
Here's the diary of my first day..
Day 1:
Breakfast: Started off with Lizi's Granola Crunch. Its not quite the same as a Starbucks coffee and crisps but felt strangely full.
Mid morning: Starting to get hungry so tried out the Nakd coco bar. I'm allowed one of these a day plus 2 fruit snacks. Tasted quite nice, a bit like a healthier version of Kellogg's Nutrigrain.
Lunch: Oh dear, being naughty on the first day! I had a meeting at the Real Greek, but managed to keep to salad and meze platters. Checked the Diet Chef booklet and I can eat out as long as I'm careful and stay within the 1200 cal daily limit.
Supper: Chili. Mmm, this was surprisingly good! A nice thick consistency and a little bit of salt made it perfect.
Finished with a chocolate milkshake of dessert, it's so nice to have the shakes already made, and it tastes really good.
Don't feel hungry at all, and will definitely try harder tomorrow.
