Product Review: Clarins Instant Smooth Foundation gets five stars

Instant light msooh.jpgInitially I really didn't like this foundation. I wanted to, honest, as the blurb sounded so promising. Soft focus pigments combined with Acacia Micro-Pearls to plump lines and give the skin a glow? It sounded fab! But then it arrived, and though the pot was small and compact, the foundation had a mousse like texture which felt very grimy and greasy on the fingers.

It also came with a spatula which was pretty pointless as it was so small you might as well just use your fingers or a sponge rather than apply it that way. And did I mention it was tiny, plastic and VERY easy to lose? But then the compliments started rolling in...

It's not that I can be swayed by public opinion (yeah, we all know that's a lie) but when perfect strangers tell me I have lovely skin and my boyfriend asks if I've been doing something different lately, it's time to give Clarins Instant Smooth Foundation another chance. Yes, it feels horrible to apply and gets everywhere, but the coverage is flawless and my skin looked really radiant.

It's available in 8 shades, and as the pot is so big it will last you ages. It includes Vitamin E and rose wax to nourish the skin, but be warned: If you are prone to breakouts that won't help as it's quite thick and could lead to more spots. It's
£22 from Clarins and great for making you feel like you've just been airbrushed (in a good way).
