The Five best buys to make in airports

airports3.jpg

I've travelled a fair amount recently and no matter whether I'm staying a in a four star hotel or a hostel in Amsterdam there are some products I always purchase at the airport. And I'm not talking fabulous limited edition airport items, I'm talking about essentials that you either forget or don't want to carry through security. So here are my secrets, and I hope they serve you well.

Number 1: Cotton ear buds.

I don't care what brand they are, but this is one item I always, always need. Whether it's hygienically removing gunk from you eye, smudging your eyeliner or mopping up eyeshadow spills these are the handiest thing in your beauty arsenal. At around £1 a box you can't go wrong, and I swear by a slightly damp one to remove undereye mascara residue.

Number 2: Toothpaste.

Sound simple, but I always forget this and NOWHERE ever supplies it.

Number 3: Water

It doesn't matter if you buy it before check in as YOU CAN'T TAKE IT THROUGH SECURITY. And you'll want it on the place when the waitress/air hostess is miles away.

Number 4: Wet wipes

Standard again, useful for freshening up and annoying to have in your bag when you're carrying books, suitcases etc.

Number 5: Something from Duty Free!

Ever fancied trying that foundation/lipstick/perfume? Buy it whilst it's cheaper and applaud yourself on the saving. And buy it before the holiday (unless you only have a carry on) as it might not be there on the way back.
