Apologies for going MIA for a day right at the beginning of my bright eyes trial, sadly day 3 was spent in bed ill, so I'm a little behind on my reports. That means going back to Tuesday, day two of my trial, when I gave a trickier colour a go, pink. Obviously it's a hard one to get right without looking like you're suffering from hayfever or recovering from a crying fit, but I thought it was worth a go, so I mixed my pink with a bit of green for a blended stripe...
This was actually quite a difficult one to get right and I found myself using a lot of the pink pigment to build up the colour. Too soft and it looked like my skin was flushed, so I did learn that with pink it's often better to go brighter. I piled it on towards the lashline, and then blended up into green, then back into pink at the crease.
The shades used were from Sleek Cosmetics' 'Chaos' palette, which I think will become a bit of a key tool when creating all the looks this week. The mineral-based shadows are matte, which makes a nice change from the uber sparkle of other products, which can look a bit much for daytime.
As usual with a bright look, it all came together with mascara and liner. Since the top lids were lined with a lot of pink, I kept the lower lashes simple, with a tiny bit of the pink pigment on the outer corner, and black liner on the inside of the lower lid (don't do this if your eyes are sensitive!).
This looks wasn't received quite as positively as the teal and turquoise the day before, but that's no surprise, really. Pink isn't to everyone's tastes, but it is dramatic and - when done properly - doesn't look too over the top.
