You'd think fame might have turned Leighton Denny's head by now, as he's come a long way from his Bradford roots and days as truck driver. Now one of the hottest names in nails he travels the world attending to talons, and sells some rather swish products as well! We had a chat with him about upcoming trends this year- and made him reveal which celebs hands he'd like to handle! Read on for more info...

Q.What nail colours do you predict will be hot this year?

A. For Autumn/Winter 08 the bold colours seen in the summer will continue to be a dominant look. But adapt the bright pinks and fluorescents for richer colours. Caught Red Handed from the Criminal Collection is a fabulous red with an added sparkle to suit the upcoming party season.

Daylight Robbery and Jailbird from the same range bring some daring show-off shades in blue/green to make a statement, whilst staying true to the fashion trends of the season.

2009 will see a more feminine look making a comeback. We will still see a lot of the nude colours that were so popular this summer, but with layering and more light, delicate, girly pinks, creams and purples.

Q.Which celeb do you think has perfect nails- and which would you like to get to work on?

A.Jade Jagger has really perfect nails. I've loved Madonna since I can remember so it would be amazing to do her nails!

Q. What interested you in nails?

A. My mum! Initially. We went away to Florida on holiday and I was surprised how many nail-only salons there were. It started there really.

Q.What advice would you have for yourself if you could go back 10 years in time?

A. My advice to myself is what's it's always been; work hard, stay focused, stay positive and make sure you always do your very best in every situation.

Q. What are the secrets to wearing red nails, and is there an age limit?

A. There is no age limit to wearing red nails, just as long as you make sure that you choose a suitable shade. Darker reds, berry tones and maroons such as Leighton Denny's Vamp or Infatuation will look more sophisticated whilst still drawing attention towards the nail and away from the hand, making skin look younger. Bright reds are great for the party season, but remember to avoid orangey tones if you have fair skin and dark hair - which is a particularly strong look this A/W.
