I'd do pretty much anything to even out my skin tone at the moment (yes those late night have taken their toll) but I don't really have time to have a facial at the moment. When I heard about Resurf.a.stic, a microdermabrasion stick for the home, I was very intrigued.
It looks fairly innocuous in is red packaging, which hides its pritt-stick like body. The instructions seemed simple enough, clean face, splash with water, pop up the stick and wet it under the tap. Next you had to circle the Resurf.a.stic around the face in small motions, deciding the amount of pressure you could cope with. As the stick is made up of medical grade diamond shaped crystals the sensation wasn't the most comfortable in the world, but it did feel like it was exfoliating away a large portion of grime.
You can opt for either the body or the face version, and as it was my face that was troubling me I'd opted for that, little realizing quite how red I'd look afterwards. What can I say, I think that it's good to feel things working!
The second time I tried it I used considerably less pressure so it felt a lot less abrasive and left me with a squeaky clean complexion. It does leave a rather strange residue on the face so make sure you have towel handy to pat it off. I also applied generous amounts of moisturiser afterwards as the squeaky clean feeling meant not only had it removed dead skin it had also stripped the face of essential oils so I wanted too replenish that. The do say that the stick has moisturizing agents such as like Aloe, Chamomile Extract, Cucumber, Soy Protein, but I felt I needed extra cream as well. They advise using it no more than two or three times a week, and you do a notice a difference after use.
It's not suitable for use on broken skin or blemishes so you do have to use it carefully, and you might not want to use it as many times as they recommend. Still, I'd suggest incorporating this into you weekly routine, as if you have a quick once-over a week with this you'll hopefully have permanently fresh looking skin.
It costs £20 and is available from Blinc Uk.
