Golden Globes Beauty: Is it time for a girlie trip to the hair salon for BFFs Drew and Cameron?!

They may have Hollywood's best hair stylists at their beck and call, but that hasn't stopped best mates Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz from turning up at last night's Golden Globes with hairstyles that have got everyone talking...

Contrary to most critics, I love Drew's new short cut and fab bouffant, Marilyn Monroe-inspired backcombed look. However, I do wonder if it might have been even better if she'd patted it down just a tiny bit more. In photos from a distance she looks amazing, but close up it's super-fluffy, perhaps a little serum might have been a good idea?

Meanwhile, Cameron Diaz surprises nobody with yet another 'oh, I just came here straight from the beach' wavy look. That's all well and good, and it suits her tomboy personality...but is that colour deliberate? I'm all for beachy, graduated colour with dirty roots and frosted tips, but this looks like she's growing out the blonde after a battle with a bottle of Sun-in (you know what I'm talking about, don't deny it). Come on Cam, you're one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood! Get your roots done or get that line of colour blended through!

I loved Drew's hair. She gave a look from an earlier era a modern twist by not making it too neat. Too many celebs play it safe these days and she has played it safe on the red carpet for far too long too. Can't wait till the Oscars!

I'm glad to see this commented on! First, it was nice to see Drew back to her light blonde haircolor! None of her other haircolors have made her eyes & complexion *POP* as well as this color. And the mousey dark-blonde/light-brown she's had for a while makes her look a bit older (in addition to just not doing anything for her, don't you think?). And I love the 60s blonde-bombshell sort of style - very glamorous. I agree, though, that her hair really should have been more "finished" and less pouffy, but also, we had some hellacious Santa Ana winds here in L.A. on Golden Globes day!

Cameron's look, on the other hand, was kind of a mess, at least to me. Not relatively fashionable dark roots - just inexplicably grown-out (down- to-her-earrings-length!) light-brown over blonde hair? The makeup isn't right either, somehow making her look a little odd... too much blush in an attempt to match her dress, maybe?

(Sorry to go so long....!)

Cam's hair is a new fashion statement according to Rita Hazan big name hair colorist to the stars. I love it its cool its different and brings out her eyes. No one has roots that bad-its deliberate! duh!

Is it just me or is Cameron Diaz really looking old these days?

Cameron looks like Iggy Pop.
