Product review: NutriHeat Straighteners

nutriheat_e_.jpg

This product is rather strange to review. The premise behind it is that you're purchasing a pair of high powered straighteners (up to 230 degrees) which contains a small slot. This magic slot is where you insert the NutriHeat capsule, which coats the hair with Imetec nourishing goodness after it has straightened it. Think of it as a two pronged attack- step one straighten then protect it with the NutriHeat capsule.

It's a nice idea to protect you hair after you've used hot tools on it, but does the infusion of vitamins actually work, and can you notice a difference?

Read on to find out.

Using the product was pretty simple- you turn it on, and the a LCD screen light up in blue. Adjust the temperature to the desired heat (it will beep whilst you do do) and when the NutriHeat is ready a small logo will appear in the screen. You're now good to go, so style and shape as you would with any other straightener. There's an indicator level which shows how much use is left in the capsule- each one is equivalent to approx 30 minutes of styling,

Now remove the capsule, clean and voila, you're good to go. I wasn't that impressed initially, thinking it was just a lot of palaver for no result- but then people starting commenting how healthy my hair looked, which was an unexpected surprise. It felt a lot softer as well, and though i couldn't notice a difference looks-wise, perhaps it was a case of being to close to be objective.

The straightener comes with a useful 3 metre cable and 3 capsules, but once they're used up you can either use it without (thus having just a straightener with no NutriHeat properties) or purchase more, incurring added expense. Still, the results spoke for themselves, so I'd definitely recommend this- just check if you can afford the refills first.
