Review: Intraceuticals O2 Facial at the Chelsea Day Spa

_DSC0068_1.jpg

It's the new year now,so it's time to sort out my skin woes once and for all.I've been bugged with fine lines, acne and a general grayish pallor lately(I blame it on Christmas) so it's time I went for a major skin re-haul. And there's no better place to do it than at the Chelsea Day Spa,where I underwent the BEST FACIAL of my LIFE. Seriously.

I tried out the Intraceutical oxygen facial and left with skin softer and smoother than I've ever seen. I was glowing so much I could have doubled as a Christmas Tree fairy, and not a blemish or red cheek in sight. So how did this work, and what exactly was so amazing about this treatment? Read on to find out.

The Chelsea Day Spa is tucked off the busy Kings Road and is very easy to find. Upon entering I was greeted by the lovely Faye Fasan a trained facialist. Faye previously worked at Estee Lauder and she's brought her gentle touch and knowledge of the cosmetics industry to giving facials that make people look fabulous. We all know facials are great for unblocking pores and deep cleansing the skin, but the side effects of a reddish complexion and three days of spots are a major downside. But not with this facial- this is the facial of kings, the kind of treatment that would have Cleopatra eschewing her milk bath to have a go at this.

To start with Faye took me through the three options of serum I could choose for the facial. each had different properties, and there's Rejuvenation ( for nourishing and fine lines), Opulence (for blemishes, skin pigmentation and brightening) and Atolexene (targets signs of ageing from wrinkles to fine lines). I opted for the Opulence brightening Infusion serum as I really wanted to tackle the blemishes on my face.

The treatment derived in Australia where the serums were used to aid recovery. After years of research the serum was combined with grade hyperbaric oxygen, to help intensify the experience. The key ingredient is the hyaluronic acid which boost cell growth and hydrates the skin. This mixture is combined and pumped through a small metallic nozzle. onto the skin.

Faye cleansed my face thoroughly and then sprayed my skin with the chosen serum. Next she used the applicator to pump oxygen and hyaluronic acid into the skin, to help plump it up. It was a slightly strange vacuuming sensation, as she worked over my skin with the nozzle, but it was completely pain free.

She did one side of my face first and then held up a hand mirror for me to view the results- which were instantaneous, as I could see one side looked brighter and plumper immediately. She then finished off the other side, and I then admired myself in the mirror again. There was no redness or discomfort and the vacuuming action of the nozzle had boosted collagen production and enhanced elastin- which was immediately visible. True, the effect is cumulative, so I knew I'd only look this good for a couple of weeks, but even so... (I can see why people get addicted to this).

The facial leaves the face smooth, and it's OK to apply makeup straight away as well, if you're like me and hate going au naturel. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an instant boost, as it's the type of treatment that means you'll leave wreathed in smiles. And that's the idea right?

The facial cost £125 each or £700 for a course of six. At the moment you get a 20% discount when you book a course before the end of January!
