Shed those seasonal pounds with Ultratone
Have you indulged a little too much lately? Taken rather too generous helpings of those mince pies and Cadbury selection packs? Yes, me too. Well fear not, help is at hand with the Ultratone treatment. Obviously a mechanical instrument if no substitute for healthy eating and exercise but done in conjunction it can have you seeing results a lot quicker, plus help motivate you to do up the top buttons of those jeans again. I tried a session at the Face and Body clinic to try to beat those seasonal bulges. Read on for my experience.

I met up with Shenaz Shariff, the chief therapist their to be talked through the treatment. Initially I was way of a couple of things. Would it hurt I wondered, and would I actually see results? Shenaz assured me that it wouldn't be painful as she's adapt the current to what I was comfortable with, and would regularly check I was still OK with it. I'd also be given a pressure dial which would allow me to adjust it by myself. As for results, she said it would vary. The Cinderella treatment show instant results, such as being able to do up a tight fitting dress, but a course will show you results over a longer period of time.
Feeling reassured I stripped down to my undies and found myself trussed up like a turkey. For those who think this treatment is just a fancier version of DIY Slendertone, you couldn't be more wrong. To start with we decided which course I was going to try. There are a lot of options, from detox, Bust & Arms Lift & Tone, anti Cellulite to slimming and weight loss and naturally I chose the slimming treatment, concentrating on my hips, stomach, bottom and thighs.
A ridiculously large number of pads were attached to me, and then there was the wiring to consider...
The electrodes stimulate the bodies muscles, targeting different muscle groups depending on the placement. Unlike home machine they use a variety of different wave forms to fool the body into keeping the muscles taut. It was a strange sensation, though not unpleasant and as each pad worked in pairs one are would vibrate whole another pulsed. The machine incorprates 20 sequential phases including micro-circulation, skin and muscle lifting, toning and firming and lymphatic drainage.
My session lasted around 45 minutes during which my body had a more thorough workout than my Christmas credit card and I definitely felt like I could see more definition afterwards. Shenaz advised me to up my water intake to help flush out my system as she unplugged me, and the pads left no marks on the body. To get long term results I'd need to undertake a session as well as watch my weight, but it was a great New Year boost.
I'd highly advise this to anyone looking to kick start their fitness regime, and look forward to getting fit the easy way in 2009.
Treatment cost varies depending if you have one session or a course. Check it out at The Face and Body Clinic 57 Harley Street, London W1G 8QS
