Last nights star studded bash made many a fashionista cry herself to sleep for what they'll never have, but here at Kiss and Makeup we're more concerned with their beauty style and Oscar worthy hairdo's. We've teamed up with the fab Akin Konizi, British Hairdresser of the Year, from Hob salons to decide which celebs hair was truly outstanding.

First to the firing line is Kate Winslet, and didn't she do well?

'Kate Winslet who looked positively regal', said Akin. 'Her look references the 50's with a sculpted faux bob updo, offset by beautiful earrings and a one shoulder gown.'

The runner up in the hair stakes was Penelope Cruz, whose recent portrayal of a eccentric schizoid woman in Vicky Christina Barcelona was riveting.

'She looked stunning,' said Akin, 'combining a classic updo with an eye-skimming fringe, that had an Audrey Hepburn feel'.

Other notable ladies of the night included Marion Cotillard. 'Her smooth, sleek chignon oozed Parisian glamour and looked ultra glossy', says Akin. Ms Jolie also made it into his good books, as he said, 'Working with lots of height at the crown, contrasted with long, loose waves, Angelina Jolie's half up style showed off her incredible emerald earrings and looked soft and feminine.'

The younger girls also did themselves proud with glamorous gowns and stylish makeup. ' Amanda Seyfried brought a real touch of Hollywood glamour to the proceedings with long shiny blonde waves, reminiscent of Veronica Lake', said Akin.
