The idea of a spray on foundation seemed a little gimmicky to me. Sure. I'm used to having my face sprayed a rather virulent orange on a regular basis for my SKY News appearances, but that's makeup aimed for the cameras, rather than the everyday user. But I continued to be intrigued so decided I had better try this for myself.
First impressions weren't overwhelming as I sat staring at the deodorant sized bottle, turning it backwards and forwards in my hands.
To apply it I had to literally spritz it over my face, and I wasn't sure how much fallout there would be. I took a deep breath and went for it, making sure I shut my eyes (necessary to avoid contact lens irritation) and voila!
The sensation was a little odd, but nothing I haven't coped with when being fake tanned, and when I opened my eyes my skin was a uniform shade of pale beige. You do need to blend slightly as extra products does collect around the eyebrows and nose area, but a few swipes with a sponge and you have the most flawless face I've ever seen. In under a minute!
See after the jump for pics of me applying it!
No fiddly blending or contouring, just spray and go! It feels quite heavy on the skin though, as the coverage is definitely not sheer, but thanks to moisturising micro spheres it also makes you cheeks feel really soft and smooth. I really like the dewy finish and find the colour range perfect for me. They only have four shades, but number 200 suited me perfectly, so I think they'd be good for most people.
There are a couple of things to be careful about- first, tie your hair back and be careful around the hairline or you'll end up up with coloured hair, and also always check the sides of your face for even coverage. I've only had the bottle two weeks and it still feels pretty full, but I've no idea how long it will last- but hopefully the fact that it's an aerosol will keep it uber fresh. I realize the pic makes me look quite airbrushed , but I'm showing you the face just after I've sprayed it, and before I've applied blush.
Oh yes, as it's an aerosol you probably can't take it in hand luggage, but that's kind of a given nowadays! At £26.25 from Cheap Smells I think it's pretty reasonable priced for what you're getting, and am a definite fan.
