Valentines' day beauty countdown: Three days to go

I know, I know. You had such good intentions. You were going to spend the last two weeks detoxing and ab crunching you way into those skinny jeans, so you could look sexy and slinky on Saturday night. Instead chocolate and wine played a rather large part in your evening activity, and you're getting a little freaked out now.

Well I'm going to try and help you lovely folks out by giving you a selection of tips and tricks to make this the best day ever, with the limited time you have left. Yes, you're never going to drop a dress size, but hey, that's what Spanx are for!

Here's how to fake your way into fabulous!

Tone up that tush

OK, three days isn't the optimum time to get seriously in shape but you can sort out those saggy bits.

Make sure you're completely fuzz free for this special night,. Depending on your level of shaving, either go for a wax ( a great one is at the Cucumba studio in Soho as they don't require booking), or alternatively try home hair removing. Nail his heart with a pretty manicure!

Keep your talons looking groomed and chip free on the big night with BioSculpture nails. You'll get a great result that will last for ages, and you're guaranteed no chips, which will look super sexy!

Get a healthy glow

With limited time to spare a fake tan is the best way to get a great golden glow, and it will leave you feeling more confident in the bedroom. I'd opt for a spray tan booth as you generally get better results than a DIY job. The Tanning Shop do a great spray tan which costs from as little as £15, and they have stores countrywide.

Beautify yourself with these makeup tricks

You want to looked groomed and glam on the night, so a perfect base is very important. If you're a bit of a klutz with foundations, try the Dior Skin Air Flash foundation as it's so easy to use even a novice can't get it wrong. Make sure you exfoliate your lips to keep them super smooth- try Benefit's Lipscription kit to get rid of dead skin and soften at the same time. Finish off with a slick of plumping gloss to keep them pumped up- an office favourite is the Urban Decay Blow Lip Plumper as its smells like chocolate!

I'd suggest investing in some lovely lash extensions, such as Nouveau lashes, because they'll make your eyes really pop, and mean you don't have mascara circles the next morning!

Hairstyle

Make sure your hair is freshly washed, and try mixing a tiny bit of your favourite perfume with your conditioner to make it smell fragrant. If you have time I'd recommend visiting a salon for a professional blowdry as they'll be able to make it look bigger and bouncier than you ever could. If you opt for something slightly different to your usual- curls if you straighten and vice versa- it will look like you've made a lot more effort.
