It's that time of year again where we come aware we're soon going to have to shed out might comforting jumpers in favour of some slightly more slimline clothes. Yes, Lycra will once gain make an appearance and if you're feeling a little out of shape you may be heading towards panic mode.

Well the new device from Tri Pollar may be able to help you out. It's called the POSE and it's a handheld skin tightening device that's suitable for home use.

It works by emitting four low level power beams into the skin via radio frequency, and this is meant to gently heat the layers of the dermis.

Once heated the idea is that the layers with fat cells will release liquid fat and thus shrink in size. The heat is also meant to boost the metabolism and stimulate more collagen, leading to firmer, fresher looking skin.

To use it you first apply the preparation gel, then turn on the device and slowly move it across the targeted areas. They say you'll be able to notice results within six weeks, using it at least twice a week, so I'll report back once I've completed the trial.

I hope it works- for £349 from TriPollar it had better be good!
