At the end of this week, I'll be moving on, and thought I may drop into Kiss and Makeup from time to time (what can I say, I love beauty!) these are probably the last posts you'll see from me for a while. So I thought I'd use the last few days to mention some of my favourite products from all the ones I've encountered since I started writing for this blog. From pricey finds to budget beauty, these are the things I will undoubtedly continue to use long after I've left Shiny Media...
Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Mimimizing Skin Refinisher (from £34.26)
Everyone knows I have awful skin, so anything I've found that helps to sort it is bound to go on my 'must have' list. This product is one of those wonder items that just seems to do everything. I don't use it all the time because I'd get through it far too quickly, but when I do, the effect is almost instant. It's amazing for refining my skin after a breakout, it doesn't irritate, and it feels soft, smooth and light on application. I've also heard it's amazing for removing those little white bumps under your eyes.
2. Origins Modern Friction (£27.40) and Make A Difference Skin Rejuvenating Treatment (£27.40)
Origins is one of my alltime favourite brands, and I don't think I've ever used anything of theirs that I didn't like, but these two are my desert island products. Modern Friction has won all kinds of awards and is a brilliant facial buffer that really does improve the texture of my skin without being harsh and gritty. It also lasts forever!
Meanwhile, Make A Difference is a wonder product that I use in winter when my skin feels dull and flaky. It's actually created to reduce UV damage on older skins, but I love the dewy, healthy finish it gives, and having seen the UV damage I already have, I think it's a good plan to use something that attempts to counteract that!
3. Darphin Jasmine Aromatic Care £58.70
I never believed in facial oils for oily skin, but I can't get enough of this stuff. In fact, I love falling asleep to the smell of Jasmine so much that since I've started using this I've paid far more attention to my skincare regime each night. A few drops applied before moisturiser keep my skin soft, supple and (hopefully) younger looking for longer, and it smells absolutely divine. I'm tempted to start using it as a perfume oil as well, but at almost £60 a bottle, I'm trying to be sparing!
