I think there is a common division among women: those who like hand cream and those who do not. Whether this division indicates anything of importance I'm not sure. What I do know, however, is that I fit firmly into the dislike category.

I tend to find the feeling of thick cream on my hands slimy and irritating and the aromas too perfumed and sickly. So I approached Berkeley Square's Fig and Cherry hand cream in a pretty biased way, certain that I would use it once and discard it in the bottom of a drawer. However, it won me over on the very first use.

The smell is divine. It is sweet, without being sickly and fruity without overpowering. I put it on once and kept smelling my hands again and again. Soon it came with me to work so that I could use it there as well. Colleagues commented on how nice it smelt and asked (unreasonably) to try some.

The texture is quite thick, but not too sticky on your hands because it very quickly sinks in leaving lovely soft skin. And I'll forgive the slight clamminess for its gorgeous, addictive smell. The only real problem with this hand cream is that using it all the time could prove expensive!

However, at £5.95 from bSquare I think it's safe to say it's not going to hurt my pockets too much!
