Desert Island chic may not be available au naturel in the depths of London town but sun-streaked locks and barely there make up is still a reality. Taking some style tips from popular TV show LOST, we see tousled waves, luscious lips and an amazing golden glow. To be fair I suspect that the LOST crew are not creating their pouts a'la sea but instead achieve that flawless beachy look with the help of a dedicated make up team. Season 6 may have finished but you can still look as lovely as Evangeline Lily with a couple of these tips and tricks.
The sea though is a good source for beauty products- an essential mineral salt when added to water and sprit zed onto hair creates fulsome waves and great texture. Good purchases to make are the GHD Sea Spray, which is infused with natural salt to give extra body, or mix up a little of your own into a body mist and spritz it on.
That glowing complexion can be copied by artfully placed bronzed blush- I like the the Balm Hot Mama Blush swept lightly across the forehead and cheeks, and other places that catch the sun. A celebrity trick for that extra highlighted look is a dab of Benefits High Beam across the cheekbones, to illuminate and accentuate. A cheaper alternative is a shimmer stick, and the Body Shop do some really lovely budget highlighters- try their Matte and Shimmer cheek colour.
Finish off with a double coating of mascara- good ones currently are Bourjois Volume Clubbing mascara, and finally a slick of good ol Vaseline on the lips for the barely there pout- without the stickiness of lip gloss.
Now you just have to find a sunlit spot and strike the LOST pose, intense staring eyes, waving arms and a strange yet sexy slow motion walk. Viva le difference! (Sawyer won't be able to stay away!)
