For far too long perfume has been about excess, think showy brazen bottles garnished in glitter with a medley of foreign sounding notes. At it's essence, you're spritzing on a scent, so all the external accoutrement's are slightly unnecessary, and this is why Issey Miyake have gone back to basics with their newest creation.
Called 'a scent by Issey Miyake'' minimalism and simplicity are the key words here, as the bottle itself is a delight in its simple yet stylish form.
It contains notes of Hyacinth and Galbanum, with a hint of jasmine, and is designed to evoke feelings of nature and air, think wind blowing in a breeze on a mountain top, or that first feeling of relief when you wash your face in the mornings.
The bottle is crafted out of a single sheet of glass and is delicately frosted to give the impression of clarity and purity. It comes in four sizes- with one being 150ml which is very unusual for a scent!
It will cost from £29.50 for 30ml, £44 for 50ml, £64 for 100ml and £84 for 150ml from Harrods on the 16th August.
There are also three matching body products, in the same design, a body lotion, shower gel and extremely expensive deodorant (£22!).
